Amityville II: The Possession 1982
Sleazy and weird. More fun to watch than the original. Third act feels especially cheap and empty. A 2 star movie with directorial flourishes that make it better than it should be.

Prom Night 1980
Not actually a four star movie - but it’s a seminal horror/ slasher for me - and I LOVED it when I was 12. It’s slow and takes a while to get going, but I still think the editing, music and sound design are top notch. The cinematography isn’t too bad either (I’m a sucker for that soft look). Creepy empty school corridors are my jam. And the disco dance number is hilarious but awesome too! I have zero objectivity here. The Wendy stalk-and-slash sequence with the eerie echos of disco music as the background, is one of the best in the slasher genre IMO.

Airport '77 1977
Lacking the camp value of ‘75 or the cache of the original, this is probably the most legit entertaining of the series. The cast is super strong - all delivering the mediocre dialogue in the best possible way.
