I adored the contradiction of this experience: gigantic rock star energy coupled with the dorkiest shit imaginable. The music is (mostly) undeniable and the performances are stellar across the board (Man of Steel ending with a sick guitar solo…yes, please). Still there’s something so uncomfortable about watching Hans Zimmer mug in his various scarfs and confer with celebrities like his Pirates of the Caribbean theme won the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Interstellar section was breathtaking and I would have been first on my feet if I was in that arena.
