Another masterpiece in the Wimpy Kid series, Devon Bostick’s performance as Rodrick Heffley shines bright. His and Greg’s dynamic is interesting and poignant, receiving great development from the first film.
We see the rise of Chirag Gupta as Greg’s foil spanning from the beginning of the “invisible Chirag” joke all the way to the Holly Hills Trojan horse-esque scenario. Fregley also plays a lesser role in Rodrick Rules which is always good.
All in all, I rate this movie slightly…
Diary of a Wimpy Kid has certainly stood the test of time when it comes to comedy.
Rowley is an absolute joy to watch — he reminds us as the audience of the innocence of childhood and the whimsy we could all employ in our daily lives.
The film stays fairly true to the source material however the inclusion of Angie, a character who does not appear in the book, simply as a plot device, really doesn’t scan for me.…
