has a feeling of shakesperian tragedy. cinematic references to taxi driver (and i assume french noir) are so well done, I love a film that knows its art form. the dialogue was so well written and acted, overlapping lines true to life but embedded with these morbid philosophical phrases. 'hate breeds hate' and 'so far, so good.'

there is so much warmth in this for a film that is ultimately about loneliness.
it is also one of the most gorgeous films I have ever seen. something about that arsenic green, perpetual nighttime speaks to being young and mad about someone who doesn't like you back.
