I simply love how empathy is shown with actions here rather than words. despite our differences, being together makes it all more tolerable and easy in a way.
truly beautiful how an animation without a single word can provoke so many feelings and represent what we, earthlings, have of best.

rating this movie is hard for me because I’ve never been into this genre of horror. at the same time, I absolutely love the theme explored and the nuances that comes from the perception that the industry is ruled by old, disgusting, ugly men that think they have the right to judge a woman’s appearance based on her age.
that is a theme that is very much discussed nowadays, but still the hunt for perfection is present in women’s lives, driven by the dishonest comparison caused by media.
loved demi moore’s work and this! what a comeback for her.

I don't remember what year exactly I watched this movie, but I can say that it stuck with me since then. Probably one of the greatest examples of what it is to be human, with all its simplicity and difficulty, portrayed by cinema.
Emmanuelle Riva should've won the Oscar for her otherworldly performance in this.
