  firstly, read Fanon! this film was essential but not very compelling. it felt so far removed from Fanon's work despite Lauryn Hill reciting it with open captions. everything was broad. so much more context could've been provided regarding why those movements occured and how it relates to Fanon's theories on violence. it saddens me that this is more of a "film i watched for class" instead of something that could genuinely radicalize the audience.
