  yesss african american nihilist surrounded by americans playing europeans w foolish accents (mark ruffalo). and obviously paris is where you go to become socialist, sexually liberated, and lesbian. i love watching yorgos’ movies for the cinematography but the prod design here feels so fantastical: lisbons streets, the sea skies, the parisian thot fits. the score just elevates the theatricality and timing to this in such a satisfyingly unsettling way. is this whimsi-goth?? what a happy ending too?? back home, happy…
