“Best judge of character is a dog. I've found that to be true.”

The murder-mystery genre is revived with Knives Out (2019). Rian Johnson creates the peak of the sub-genre with maybe my favourite Daniel Craig performance of Benoit Blanc as he solves his weirdest case yet and is up against a family of freeloaders. Every time I see and hear Don Johnson now I can’t help but think of white cake that fits his character ever so well.

Just like in The Lord of the Rings movies, Samwise Gamgee does whatever it takes to sacrifice himself for the greater good of the story.

If Ke Huy Quan held onto some potatoes, this movie would be five stars.

Martin Scorsese’s filmmaking is aging like fine wine. He seems to have tackled every genre possible, except for the epic westerns, which we now have with Killers of the Flower Moon (2023). A monumental achievement in cinema for Scorsese. With his biggest budget ever, he uses every penny in that to create this grand, crime-filled movie, much like his prior ones, but this time set in 1920s Oklahoma.

The story is so exciting and compelling that it’s not hard to…
