Whiplash 2014
Not quite as absolutely perfect as I remembered; the dad character felt a little tropey. Absolutely fine, it's just.. for this to be a flawless masterpiece, I can't have tropes like that.
Still masterfully edited and directed. The performances are what obviously take it over the edge. JK is of course superb, but Miles acting out how intense the drumming is tries his best to keep up. It all mostly works so well.
