  After sitting with it for a while, I think I liked it more than I thought at the theater. 

  The pacing was off, but I think that was due to the adherence to the original story. 

  Still fourth out of four for Eggers imo, but not bad.

  I can respect the advancement of the epic. 

  The character is weird and comically modernist. The white savior thing is so heavy. 

  Some cool characters, but Lawrence is just goofy man.

  Honestly expected to hate this movie. 

  And I still kind of do, but not entirely as I expected to. 

  Lynch’s darkly twee style doesn’t do it for me. Comes off as “aren’t I just so weird?” to me, but I do acknowledge there is good stuff in his oeuvre. 

  This one has some solid elements. It’s always a little gauche to make a movie about making movies, but I liked some of the reality warping he did.
