La Haine 1995
felt so refreshing watching this movie after having seen so many shows and movies aimlessly having 1000 different camera angles for one scene. the staging, blocking and camera movements were all so top notch. also incredibly refreshing how such an angsty film critiques the feeling of angst.

nah fuck this movie.
for one thing, this short film was split in to separate parts and all of them were montages. the whole point of montages are that there’s a build up to it and there is effort needed to make you care about what’s going on. that is what makes montages exciting. this had literally zero buildup to any of them. i just don’t think it’s even a smart choice to have any montage-esque scenes in a short…Translated from by -
