Eeeehh.. I feel like the movie sidelines the very community it seeks to celebrate. There’s a lack of cultural and character nuance, and even the atmosphere feels superficial. I found myself feeling empty and detached. The thing is, I experienced this movie as well-intentioned, but its execution overshadowed the message.
God, I love Wes Anderson's palette. The animation is rough, fitting the animal theme, and the dialogue is witty, warm, and slightly melancholic—like the bittersweet brevity of a fox’s life.
"But I’m a wild animal." Don’t we all struggle with this concept? No wasted words, no wasted frames. Loved it
I deeply enjoyed this movie and am so glad it exists. It feels like a lens bringing a blurry vision into focus. It didn’t provide all the answers. It delivered a wealth of emotions and questions, conveyed through the curious and compassionate perspective of its protagonists.
It follows a journey to break free from the constraints of a heteronormative, patriarchal society that traps women in rigid roles, only to demand they fulfil them and call them thankless when they don't.…
