I entered this movie knowing nothing about it. One of my first thoughts was, 'This whole thing feels like a Tom Waits album,' with no clue that Tom Waits actually appears as the literal devil in the movie..
That was unreal.
So, in short, Tom Waits is a part of it, as is the externalization of what I imagined his music to be (among other scenes). I can't help but love it.
It made me fully present and completely open…
God, I love Wes Anderson's palette. The animation is rough, fitting the animal theme, and the dialogue is witty, warm, and slightly melancholic—like the bittersweet brevity of a fox’s life.
"But I’m a wild animal." Don’t we all struggle with this concept? No wasted words, no wasted frames. Loved it
