  Silly fun, great visual effects, Jim Carey having the time of his life while being insanely quotable (I can’t die like this! It’s derivative!)

  Some of the human stuff is whatever, but this one makes a lot of good decisions to honour the source material and keep things consistently exciting.

  P.S. There is a half second shot of Eggman in a French maid outfit that made me spit my drink.

  If I wanted to read a Wikipedia page, 
  I’d read the Wikipedia page.

  A serious Emperor’s New Clothes situation emerging with this flick. Military worship, historical ‘accuracy’, a gifted actor and prestige filmmaker are elements working in its favour, but everything in the film is working against.

  Surprisingly dull and bordering on caricature,
  it’s in a great big rush to tick a bunch of boxes..
  with no nuance, drama or interiority.

  P.S. I love Vicky as much as the next guy, but please be serious. This isn’t even remotely a good performance, it’s like an exaggerated impression you do at parties.

  Sex, blood and music out on the open road. Love transcends Villainy. Death metal kisses the blues. There’s always a character around the bend. So watch your back and fight for your dreams.
