The book was one of my earliest childhood memories, so when I noticed there was a movie I was elated.
As often said, it starts of promising. The triple death/birth is dealt with very well, the childhood montage is nicely contrasted with the headlines and the music from happy camper. Even the introduction of grown up Stach is great. A characters first words have to define their character and "I want to be king." works amazingly for Stach.
