My fiancé and I watched this out of morbid curiosity, and mortified we were. I foolishly held some hope when the movie was just about incredibly vague bird facts. I had to bail 15 minutes before it ended because if I had to watch Donald get yet another fetish-boner in this movie, I could never face this duck again, at least without him putting some pants on and me getting therapy. The half star is for some really beautiful and creative animation and songs, and also because I’m incapable of giving a lower rating. To be fair, racism and misogyny are a fitting theme for 1944.
