  Nicely done. The beautiful and confusing last summer before the dawn of adulthood is a fairly well worn teen film trope but this felt appropriately nuanced.
  The big emotional punch landed in the last act felt a slightly forced and unnecessary way to provide emotional clarity to the guys.

  Ace, claustrophobic, sweaty 70’s crime flick. Tight script, hot soundtrack and strong performances. Grounded by a stoic Yaphet Kotto and an unravelling Anthony Quinn.

  Great recommendation from the Pure Cinema Podcast gents. Really interesting film that takes on the American obsession with guns. Something so central to the American myth that’s it’s brought to the classroom. The gun as oppressor but also liberator. Excellent central performances and beautifully shot. The almost bucolic first half hour is shattered by a shocking act of violence and the film shifts gears into something angry and urgent. 
  “You can just come in and buy one of these”. Indeed.

  That opening scene. Great music throughout and eerily prescient of the crank self help culture the internet has enabled. Stunning lead performance. Loved the slow dread of the first hour and have been thinking about the end scene a lot.
