This movie truly fascinates and stuns me. I find it blatantly disrespectful and a hate crime to the real people it's about. Bob Dylan and Edie Sedgwick, I'm sorry. Some sort of anti-queer propaganda is how this reads..if only she had been on the safe and straight path from the start. My trust in film was abolished.
At the same time, it occupies my thoughts and was deeply troubling and perhaps it can illustrate the perspective of a woman entirely…

The Watermelon Woman 1996
For the history books maybe...it feels to me like reality and snippets of real life put into this film, as it is true and conversational, and relatable and legitimate. Identity and living through trial and error, things that seemed so significant passing by or coming to an end. I admire the way it is assembled and the story it tells that is a deeper, unending complication in our lives, our systems, our society. Would recommend.
