usually, I dig movies about the connection between two people centered around dialogue. this time around, it's the absence of words that tells the story. a masterclass in cinematography (and Mrs Chan is one of the most melancholically beautiful women ever)

Lost in Translation 2003
As someone who's had their fair share of loneliness in a foreign city moments, this comforted the disturbed within. When it feels like you're lucid dreaming, you interact with the world in a lot more of a careless manner. Explains the vices and the fun-making. Finding another lucid mind while you're wandering makes the experience much more surreal and tangible at the same time. One of my new favorites for sure!

Thelma & Louise 1991
this was SO GOOD. going from having a quick holiday to becoming armed, dangerous, and chased after by the police across state lines is so girly. <3
