Hard Truths 2024
Overall great performances and you really feel the pain underneath. The one that an outsider would consider easily solvable by just talking about it. But unfortunately that is not in everyone's upbringing. There were some moments where it felt a bit over the top on the angriness, but the second half of the movie really brought it home.

Sure, there are some good scenes on itself and the cinematography and set design is great. But on a thematic level there has to be more depth to wish for to justify its runtime. The movie also has a tendency at times to put some stuff too literal for my liking.

A movie that goes beyond clear understanding, but forces you to ask questions and look for the answers everywhere in the frame. Like life itself, it never reveals a single truth, one you can hold on to. This almost sounds too cheap, but when watching you feel how strong the hand of Tarkovsky is. We have to go along with him, otherwise we get even more lost in the fog or get stuck in a long tunnel.
