I prefer the other adaptations. Too much is lost once they distilled it down to a feature length Hollywood film. All the tangential gags that would leave some people feeling wiser and gigglier are removed to support a conventional 3-act structure that, instead, leaves one thinking "Why, sir?"
They should've doubled down on the absurd sillies instead of trying to take parts of itself seriously. Taking a construction lift down to Earth piloted by "Slartibartfast" shouldn't literally be a "down…
