Set design in this is crazy intricate. A true relic from the times of fx. Two has a different flavor from the first but still has heart and is able to stand on its own. You could feel the love and dedication from everyone involved.

The Long Goodbye 1973

So much I could say about this… a neonoir about a hardboiled private eye with as much smarm as heart.
“You ever think about suicide, Marlboro?” Amazing quotes. The back forth and dialog is and interlaced shots are so fantastic. The amount of surfaces used to light a match is insane. Some folks have spoken about the book and I’ve never read it but i think this should be a standalone film with its own merits.
Blow Out 1981

Fantastic score. Love love the diopters. Incredibly weak ending plot wise but visually was cool. Sucks that the only woman character in this was as dense as a block of cheese of cheese but this is the 80s.
