  instant favorite. between the predictably fantastic performances (Mifune and Yamada are mesmerizing together), all the insane, intricate little set pieces, and the constant ricochet between cacophony and near-silence, i was 100% spellbound.

  it was such a treat to see this in a theater, too — shout out to everybody in there with us who also lost composure and gasped out loud at Washizu's iconic final moment
