i know it's because if they didn't, there wouldn't be a movie but why are the main characters having a Private Dinner at a fancy romantic restaurant on valentine's day when they know for a fact the serial killer who specifically targets couples on valentine's day is in their city, and this is why ally's ad campaign is being cancelled online, which is the entire reason why they're having the Private Dinner

    good kills though!

this movie rules, the grimy rain-soaked 90s cyberpunk future aesthetic is fantastic, and the way it handles the malleability of the body and mind in a world where both can be easily replaced or made from nothing is very cool. the subtitles in the version we watched were kind of odd though (lot of typos and stilted phrasing)

I was supposed to watch this for a class on Japanese film and animation six years ago but i wasn’t paying attention to it enough. sorry to my professor

frank the character is enjoyable. found the rest of the movie insufferable, pretentious, and annoying. look of boredom and consternation with furrowed brow.

Was it good? Well, it definitely had good points, but it felt disjointed overall (and that first fifteen minutes is, uh, very rough). Did it have me full-on sobbing for approximately the last ten to fifteen minutes or so? Yes. Is it another nail in my coffin labeled “inexplicable attraction to bill hader”? Again, yes.
