A movie about a narcissistic cartoon gremlin who wrote great songs and had contempt for literally everyone except himself and Woody Guthrie.
I don't know how many more movies I want to watch about characters who are underdogs who have been proven ridiculously, insanely right by history, ages ago.
I do love 60s folk and I enjoyed the music and the depiction of the scene. I wish Pete Seeger was my dad.
Better build-up than payoff but a mostly fun ride. It does feel like this movie kinda hates women but not in the way I expected going in.
Worth the price of admission for Denzel Washington alone.
There are some incredible performances and spectacular scenes in the movie but the plot comes together far too tidily and is hampered by having to establish its connection to the first film.
Still, great to spend some time in a beautifully-shot ancient Rome!
