This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Last Year At Marienbad(1961)Masterpiece, I can’t believe how good this movie is. The mysterious-ness of it all, the smooth dolly shots, the cold acting, all are up my alley. The first time I saw it, I was just so taken aback by the style of the film, this time the story had me engaged. Resnais continues to be poetic with the style and dialogue, the repetitiveness just chefs kiss.

My American Uncle 1980
My American Uncle(1980)Alain Resnais was one of our greatest poets in film. This film contains shades of Wes Anderson, these well-off people that are tremendously unhappy. Speaking of Anderson it kinda reminds me of The Royal Tenenbaums also. The ensemble cast, 4th wall breaking, these backstories told about each character. Cleo from 5 to 7(1962)I remember seeing this a couple years ago at this film club screening. The first viewing I never noticed how long the takes were. I love the style of the title cards and how quiet the film is. Theres almost no score and very little music. Drastically different from her travelogue films and her first film La Pointe Courte in which she shifts her focus from setting and location to a single character. Very innovative, and sleek, legit love this movie and will be coming back to it multiple times
