  my favorite of sofia coppola’s films… which is not saying much considering i dislike like all of them 

  this one is gorgeous and quite fun though and well deserving of its cult classic status

  like marie antoinette was really just a girl omg … well at least in this version of history

  <gelboys> the show so aptly captures the messiness of gay romance in the modern social media era 

  “love is just another game for fools” where psychological warfare is deployed against the other through instagram stories, spotify playlists, & tiktok videos that obfuscate and confuse the characters’ feelings 

  the giddiness of budding romance gives way to repressed confessions and tears

  fou4mod + chian are pretty dislikable and the story gets a bit tiresome with the cyclical push & pull dynamics of their relationships,…

  everyone has been anticipating this movie for a long time but i see why there was no rush to release this widely — it’s unfortunately just not good

  their brief relationship in their youth never feels like actual romance… their surroundings and immature fearful selves never let it get that far and really their dynamic just seems toxic. 

  as they grow older, they continue to break down and lash out in a society where they can’t be their true selves …
