Kind of a perfect film, a showcase of incredible performances all around. The pacing and continuity keep the film moving and engaging, Sometimes when a movie is too good, there isn't much to say about it.

Simon of the Desert 1965
As far as unfinished 45 minute surrealist pieces go, this one is fun. Hell hath no fury like your nagging wife, except it does if your nagging wife is Satan. I would be really interested in living in the alternate timeline where this is completed which is about as nice as a thing I could say about it.

Perfect Blue 1997
Just goes to show, idol fans are the worst people you can find in this world.
Great music, the scenery painting is particularly impressive, although the "ugly people are evil" trope is here in full effect. Definitely a unique visual style, there's a lot of interesting things to look at on the screen at all times. Surprisingly definitive ending for a movie about becoming disconnected from reality, kind of drains a bit of the fun of interpretation. But other than that, and the existence of the idol industry, immaculate film.
