Family 2023
This film reminded me of the Nan Goldin quote "The wrong things are kept secret and it destroys people"
Latest film by Don Palathara deals with the power structures within families, how suffocating the families can be, how families bury their secrets and let horrors go on. It's told with incredible visual style and with a great depth to the characters. It's structured in such a way that it leaves a lot of room for interpretation. Don Palathara undoubtedly is one of the most interesting filmmakers working in India today.
