  Kind of like a lot of the things that were inspired by it. Shocker! Can’t help but feel all the shades of All That Jazz and (weirdly) Inland Empire. Dances through a lot of themes and motifs but one of the ones at its core is inherently fascinating to me: is it the responsibility of the artist to make their work intelligible?

  Wicked Act One except 2.5x the length with dodgy arrangements, dull performances, and absolutely nothing added that you couldn’t get out of the original. I felt absolutely nothing watching the musical that first made me understand how powerful musicals can be. That’s pretty fucked up.

  Really disappointed because it’s clear everyone involved cares about this project (except maybe Michelle Yeoh? like she just won an Oscar and I cannot imagine anyone looking like they gave less of a shit) but…
