    Pedro Almodovar's first full-length English-language feature revolves around the topic of euthanasia. As depressing and well-intentioned as it sounds, the signature colors of Almodovar spreads around the corners of the film, but it "sounds" sterile. The stilted dialogue flattens the central struggle.     Kitchen as love cathedral. Food as life's sustenance. Tran Anh Hung's sensational film centers on middle-aged love, and it completely defies any expectations of such romance. It's sensuous and romantic while being unassuming with its proceedings. It's gentle and patient. While it's also good to point out the exceptionally made cooking sequences, that made me drool all the way. Former lovers Juliette Binoche and Benoit Magimel both are a marvel. Had an electrifying chemistry from the start, and they've been here so they know. But Binoche is glowing like no other. That performance is amazing.
