the most interesting part of this film to me is how it presented three women facing different aspects of womanhood– julie, a teenager facing various firsts and a sticky relationship with her mother; abbie, a woman undergoing treatment for cervical cancer; and dorothea, a single mother struggling to navigate her relationship with her growing teenage son. despite these different experiences and viewpoints, they still manage to find common ground in raising jamie. though their ideas of introducing a teenage boy to the real world vary, it’s still rooted in the idea of genuine love and respect for women and the struggles they go through.

‘di na talaga ako sure sino yung susuportahan ko towards the climax kasi sobrang detached nung main characters sa plot? nahirapan din ako mag-empathize sa kanila kasi... ang unrealistic nung pag-characterize sa kanila. looking past that, ayun, tawang tawa pa rin ako. ang tagal kong hindi nanood ng filipino comedy, at ang refreshing na makakita ng ganitong mga overlooked commercial films sa netflix. first time ko ring magsabi ng “tite” out loud sa harap ng pamilya ko.
