How they could’ve made this movie really work (Spoilers!):
All they had to do was reframe it so the confident Joker persona from the first movie gets beaten out of Fleck by the Asylum to destabilize his trial. And Fleck is constantly trying to hold onto it and escape into fantasy musicals that get distorted as the beatings and isolation get worse. The prosecution itself could exploit his traumatic past to illicit a regression, making Harvey Dent seem even more…
Diarrhea… If Neil Breen was given a 120 million dollars, this is what he would’ve made. Absolute insanity, from The Godfather and Apocalypse Now to this.
Apparently there were 300 rewrites?? It shows. Forty years of half thought out ideas shat out onto the screen from his crusty bowels for us to shovel down our throats.
It’s shallower than a mud puddle, nothing connected at all, the actors were all in different movies playing dress up.

Just saw the film, I had to sign an NDA so I can’t say much. I get it, it’s a work in progress… But oh man, they need to fix the beginning. Really went in wanting to like this. Just… ugh, so frustrating because the ending was really good.
I’m looking forward to seeing the final version, I really hope they make it airtight. Christian Bale deserves better. His character deserves more focus and depth.
I just saw the film, our group was the first in the world to see it! I signed an NDA so I can’t say too much, but everything about it was so well done.
Just wow, for the first half I didn’t even think it was a Knives Out film, it does something I haven’t seen before in a mystery or who-dun-it film, so unique and such a fresh spin.
Way better than the first Knives Out in my opinion.…
