•The Village of the Water Mills
    •Crows
    •Sunshine Through the Rain

    High and Low

    ★★★★★

Not to be dramatic but after my second viewing of High and Low, I just went nonverbal and took a walk outside to simply process its greatness.

First watch was already amazing but somehow it's an even bigger masterpiece on rewatch. I don't know what exactly is the difference this time but it just impacted me much more.

The story, screenplay, direction, performances, and cinematography are perfect. I absolutely loved every minute of it and it is now my favorite Kurosawa. Time to update my top 4.

A coming of age revenge story drenched in fire and brimstone. Massive set pieces and more lore expansion. Anya Taylor-Joy is electric and she really embodied the role of the titular character. There's no doubt as well that Chris Hemsworth had his career best performance in this film. Would be delighted to see him get some love during awards season.

Furiosa had a lot to live up to. There's more…

My most anticipated film of 2024 has finally released here in the philippines. And yes, it lives up to the fucking hype. Dune: Part Two is a monumental achievement of Sci-Fi filmmaking. Bigger in scale and better in just about everything compared to it's predecessor. It's a groundbreaking piece of art with sensory overload, thrilling visuals, and an epic narrative.

Denis Villeneuve really has the sauce. He poured his entire heart in this project and he has solidified himself in…
