I Saw the TV Glow 2024
I found the ending to be extremely powerful and moving.
I did not enjoy most of the movie. Didn't enjoy the performances (except Justin Smith, he was fantastic). Didn't enjoy some of the writing or poetry. And I generally dislike slow cinema unless it's by Tarkovsky.
HOWEVER... I was totally roped in by the story. And even though I found it a drag to watch... the ending made up for it.
Extremely depressing in the same vein as "Synecdoche, New York" or "I'm Thinking of Ending Things".

This is where "Drive", "GTA", and I think even "Uncut Gems" owe a lot of their style and structure to. Even though the film is older than the mentioned successors, it really feels like a more nuanced story with smarter allegories to ponder about.
Stellar soundtrack too, wow.

Besides the cliché, over-the-top narrative that Nolan uses to ground us in this sci-fi adventure, Tenet is really a great Kinetic cinematic experience. The spy intrigue, action sequences, locations, music, explosions, etc. were all top of its class and I think is the only thing that hold the movie together.
Its not that I hate all of the story.. I actually really love the sci-fi angle, the deeper lore behind the time travel weapon, and the…
