Woman in the Dunes 1964
That element of the movie really grabbed me. How far are we, people, willing to go to get what we want? It's different depending on where you are and what your living through but in the end it seems everyone's abusing someone in some way to get their view of the sea tide to escape.

Ashes and Diamonds 1958
When anyone asks me what my favorite movie is my answer is Ashes And Diamonds. Discovered it in film school in Belarus. This movie is gorgeous and affects me as it seems to relate to my own thoughts and upbriging. I love that it takes a character through a story that feels like they're genuinely making decisions that ultimately and fatalistically ends them.
