Disney do a joke that wasn't in the first Moana movie challenge: level impossible apparently.
The best part of this movie was Matangi I think and even then she felt like she wanted to be Scar from Lion King so bad. Also it fucking shows that Lin did not write any of the music. Disney just wanted to essentially put out Moana 1 a second time, but disguised as a "new movie". Make a movie with new plot that doesn't literally have all the same beats as the first movie maybe?Translated from by -

The substance, where? Not in the characters.... This movie is not it for me. I think it could've ended at about 75% the way through and I would've been fine with it. It truly is a maximalist movie over doing it's techniques so theres no emphasis on anything. If you like the book don't watch this movie it'll piss you off. I think they wanted to make a movie and not stay true to the aspects of the book. They put the biggest aspect on loving her husband when in the book she loved the world and biology. They also changed key importance of the tunnel and what goes on there. They tried. Maybe if I hadn't read the book I wouldn't feel half as disappointed as I am.
