Every frame a painting. This movie is absolutely gorgeous to look at. And not only is it a feast for the eyes, the soundtrack is superb as well. Every technical aspect of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) is as close to perfection as one can get. The humor, character designs, the art style, the acting, it's all on point.

Where one might take issue with the movie is with its plot, seeing as it's basically half a movie. It's a…

For each time Matthew Vaughn puts out a new Kingsman movie, the more I feel like Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) was nothing more than lightning in a bottle.

While I disliked the previous movie for veering way too much into the absurd, the new prequel The King's Man (2021) finds itself awkwardly placed somewhere in-between being absurd and serious. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

While Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) was a simple movie, it had enough style and charm to elevate itself above the rest and make it stand out. The sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) however elevates it even further by adding so much depth to its characters and exploring their inner conflicts. While it does trade in a lot of those action moments for more dialogue driven scenes, it pays off in the end.

The first movie had style and charm, but the sequel has heart, and that in my eyes makes it a worthy sequel.
