Tuff. Felt like a broken record, lots a loose ends but that’s the point. However I’m not sure this element was executed as well as I would’ve liked. Went it with too high of an expectation.
After further digestion I think this movie is irresponsible with its portrayal and approach towards heroin and drugs.
Most of the way through I didn’t know where the movie was going, I found myself annoyed by the story, it dragged on a lot. But in the closing scene somehow everything came together. It made me slightly emotional. I appreciated this as most of the previous films I’ve seen fall of at the end but this wasn’t the case.
It’s a tragic story. But I wish I saw more of who Anora is, but at the same time I see that’s the point to the film, we never see who she really is.
Woah. So much unpacked in only 1 setting through the whole film. The Eerie soundtrack somehow fit so perfectly in the nostalgic family gathering where everything is set. Exciting and stressful, claustrophobic and warm, sad and funny, the film evokes a lot of emotion from very little. Very enjoyable watch. Thanks nimaye and fatme.
Just such a well made fast paced and enjoyable film. There are some very harrowing scenes which depicting the sadistic environment of Brazilian favelas during the time. I felt it was a little stretched and long, but there’s so many metaphors to analyze and look into, and so much to enjoy. The music! Razahh!
