Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me 1992
Saw this in a theater. I get Lynch’s style is in its own corner but man people were just chuckling through the whole thing like hello. Crazy movie to be laughing through. Dead silent only in the last bit. Probably the most thematically horrific thing I’ve ever seen.

Beautifully shot and wonderfully acted.
A really hard glance at defining the church with very little mention of Christ outside of prayer endings. “The Church is what we do next” is at the core of the story. Betrayal, backstabbing, and subversion claw their way into picking out the next Pope.
It’s not the sort of movie that fills you with much confidence in the Vatican. In fact it’s obvious that the members of the conclave also have very little confidence…
