    A Quiet Place: Day One

    ★★★

‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ anchors itself in the human experience at the onset of the apocalypse, yet it overlooks critical aspects of the alien invasion's backstory, which is pivotal for an origin story. The abrupt revelation of the extraterrestrial creatures’ vulnerability and what prompts their attacks feels rushed and less plausible, which could leave some fans wanting. The suspense feels familiar, yet it doesn’t take the film to new heights beyond what we had already seen in the first two installments.

‘Inside Out 2’ is made for kids, but adults will get more out of it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From my March 12, 2023 post:

#Oscars2023 #RalphRecommends | While there are several strong contenders for this year's Best Picture Oscar, I believe that "Everything Everywhere All at Once" has the potential to come out on top. As for my personal favorite film of 2022, that would have to be "Tár," though "The Banshees of Inisherin" holds a special place in my heart for its unique storytelling and emotional depth.

    Star Wars: The Last Jedi

    ★★★★

“The Last Jedi” is definitely not the best “Star Wars” film, and it will leave fans wanting more (admittedly there are archetypes that immediately need redemption) and wanting less (stop introducing new characters that can’t help develop the narrative or top BB-8’s cuteness). But despite the unnecessary fillers, the longest franchise installment to date succeeds in terms of presenting satisfying character arcs and jaw-dropping visuals and investing in what fans are really paying for: nostalgia.
