The Brutalist 2024
I'm finding it hard to fully give in to this film, glorious as it is. On the surface, it's a grand sweeping spectacle - like its brilliant opening title credits (and end credits, too) and lush cinematography. I mean, for these points alone I'm all in. But there's a certain disjointedness, a disconnect to the story, and maybe upon a second viewing I'll find that that's deliberate? Remains to be seen. But there's characters and storylines that just...end, or don't resolve. I dunno.
