Hotel Rwanda 2004
this movie was not what i needed in march of 2025. especially not following watching American History X.
I told my partner in jest that this was a great one to follow up with. It was as one-sided, individualist, and extremely compelling as it was when i first watched in 10 years ago.
It is a flawed story, limited in scope, but well acted and directed. it leaves me wanting a larger story told to correct this limited narrative. i want the truth, not this based on true events BSTranslated from by -
American History X 1998
as a piece of art, it goes hard. norton is incredibly convincing in both sides of his role.
they're so different though it's hard to reconcile in a few hours.

Door 1988
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This movie did a great job at building a frustrating, looming masculine presence in the film. As well as surprising me with a good amount of blood & gore in the final bits.
The suspense and consistent threat of sexual violence was disgusting and omnipresent. The pure hatred coursing through my veins at the salesman was intense.
What didn't pull me in was the use of the synth track that was too light and faded in and out too loudly and suddenly, it pulled me away from the moment.Translated from by -
Perfect Days 2023
"next time is next time. now is now"
what a wonderful movie about focusing on beauty in the mundane, being kind whenever you can, putting your whole heart into whatever you do, and loving fully.
this man never fights, he experiences the world as one might while laying in a river, enjoying the water and letting it flow over you.
i loved the ending, i loved the middle, i loved the beginning. this movie makes me want to make art.Translated from by
