It's a fun movie
Hayao Miyazaki's films are always so special to me. His distinctive art style and world is always breathtaking and full of life. This film is no exception. The topics of loss, grief, and the immense pressure of wanting to be better / have done better for someone are so well captured without ever expliciy spelling it out. The all-star English cast did phenomenal jobs. This one will join the roster of movies I turn on when I'm home sick and I need a feel-good experience.
I expected to laugh at the gorey deaths, but I instead laughed at the comedy. And the gorey deaths. Some parts were predictable, but this was a fun watch. No need to see it again or anything.
