It’s crazy to watch this film from decades ago and resonate so deeply with dearly departed queer folkx. The same things they want are things friends and I talk about wanting: security, belonging, family, and fun. I am glad they paved the way for culture and for me to live comfortably.

Brutal. Painful. Tongue in cheek humour at parts helped and having a streamer (Hasanabi) react to this softened the blow; but I do become despondent when I think about how it’s been almost 20 years since this film was made and nothing has changed, things have gotten worse. And that’s from me, a Canadian! Privatization of health care is so evil. We are living in a time now more than ever where we as people should be united and hold the powers that be responsible, and that we will not lie down and die just because they want one extra bonus.
