The Favourite 2018
Went in nervous because this director tends to go way darker than I can handle (a couple scenes in the lobster upset me like few movies have). This floated just above that fear in the right way, holding tension and grossness and beauty. Awesome costumes and performances, a little bit flat at the end, but glad I gave it a chance .

Had some pieces that were a little silly (most of the actors really went for it and then Clifton seemed to be from a different movie) but overall really fun and perfect for a Halloween night. Jokes were better than the scares, and enough hit to keep my attention the whole way through.

Totally Killer 2023
Pretty fun and exciting to try to solve the mystery. The murders were too much though (and not really the point)—I’m not super squeamish but it didn’t fit the tone and felt gross. I dunno, I don’t want to write a review but I can’t figure out how to do the “diary” version of this on this app. So yeah, serviceable and worth the time for some Halloween fun.
