Great movie but I continually felt that Matthew McConaughey was not the best choice for this role.

an interesting outing by De Niro. I think the devastating and unexpected nature of the ending keeps it from being seen as a classic Robin Williams dramatic film, which tend to have a more optimistic feel

I’ve seen this movie before but I forgot how much it affects me. People, like Barney, being nice to Vivian makes me cry. This movie is heart-wrenching and I could not love Julia Roberts more. The constant allusion to not kissing may be heavy-handed, but the physicality of them resisting builds to the moment so well. Unmatched chemistry. “That’s just geography” is the best line of the entire film. I think this movie may become my litmus test that I show people I’m dating to see how much they care about America’s working class.
