  Was very excited by the prospect of Scott Derrickson and Anya teamup, given the Letterboxd rating (2.9) I went in tentative, but I loved this! While the Lovecraftian horror masterpieces this film is clearly inspired by (such as Alien and The Thing) have had sequels/prequels/remakes, I think this film on the other hand, is everything the tired franchise spinoffs wanted to be. It's not a perfect film by any means, but it's so refreshing watching a big-budget, original sci-fi horror…

  The most cocaine era King story ever. Losing a star because I got baited with Elijah Wood's name on the credits, please just give me an entire film of him and his overcompensating water tumbler. Osgood Perkins keep doing whatever the fuck it is you're doing.
