  Incredible weaving of archival footage, audio and interviews with potent musical pairings. The research is so robust and irresistible; it’s so satisfying to watch the visual and sonic unfurling of someone’s thesis statement. I will say, if you don’t come to this film with some background on African liberation movements or Cold War, this will be a whirlwind of information and might be slightly overwhelming. 

  But it made me be like, THIS is what History Day should be! (Anyone remember History Day??) I’m really here for more agitprop connecting art and liberation movements. Who’s making the OSPAAAL documentary? 👀
