Cue Triple H's music. I was surprised at how much I liked this. The Grabber is a frightening villain that Ethan Hawke is terrific at playing. I love the way the ghosts communicate through the phone while also showing them in the room. That's a neat trick that adds to the chilling tone. It should have been easier for the girls' dreams to help find them, especially near the end. Plots gotta happen though, so I get the limitation. Doesn't need a sequel, but I'll check it out.

Watching Christopher Walken explain the tooth fairy (while also foreshadowing The Rock's career) is always worth my time. This was the first real look at Dwayne Johnson as a leading man, and he totally made it work. The action is nothing to write home about and is pretty ridiculous at times, but the comedic pairing with Seann William Scott makes up for it. I really like the opening scene too. Just a fun flick for any day.

Again. Charles Rane is not insane. But he has an amazing name. Another Wesley Snipes action thriller from the 1990s. Bad guys are of the usual sort. Plenty of chances to kill the protagonist but instead wait until he can get the upper hand. Rane is a good villain though, providing memorable lines and a good fight for Cutter. It tries to shake things up so that everything isn't confined to just the plane, but it's still very formulaic. The hero saves the day and gets the girl. What more could you want?

Couldn't agree more. Nice to see a Boardwalk Empire reunion here. Definitely a slow burn that doesn't really offer anything new. The performances are good, especially Shannon as the Police Chief who hates what has become of his town. It's turned him racist, and that bothers him. The Reverend is a conflicted man, but his actions show that he isn't worth saving. It ends appropriately for him, though not for everyone he affects. Decent pandemic movie.
